Nurse Practitioner
Ekua Walker, PNP is host and CEO (Chief Encouragement Officer) and Pediatric Nurse Practitioner in Development and Behavior specialty for a Medical Foundation in the San Francisco Bay Area. Local physicians refer young patients for developmental assessments when there are concerns for delays of any kind. She has expertise in supporting families with challenges ranging from communication delays, Autism, Cognitive Disability, school learning concerns such as Learning Disability, ADHD (Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder), and a range of emotional concerns in children and teens.
Ms. Walker is Board Certified in Primary Care Pediatrics, trained at Stanford University for a Bachelors in Human Biology and University of CA San Francisco for her Advanced Practice Nursing degree and has loved this role for over 11 years. She also has years of previous coaching experience as a Clinical Health Educator for Kaiser Permanente and managed complex behavior medical management of dual-diagnosis, low-income children at UCSF Benioff Children’s Hospital Oakland prior to her current clinic.
As a parenting consultant, she provides training on mindfulness-based parenting strategies needed to implement treatment plans (with or without medication from your medical care home).
In her free time, she loves Zumba and African dance, food from around the world and is active in her church, conducts the children’s choir and teaches Parent- Child music and movement classes to infants, toddlers and preschoolers with their caregivers and community, preschool and elementary school settings. Ekua is happily married and proud mother to 8- and 11- yo daughters who also love to bake, dance and sing their hearts out.
